Local Economy Still Growing Strong

Believe it or not residential building permits are up slightly over last year (about 2.5%). The local economy overall is up just over 3%, but job growth is down slightly. The job numbers are mostly being effected by continued slower construction. Some of these numbers seem a bit contradictory, but I believe it is primarily due to a lag in hiring. I will keep looking for builders' inventory of new homes to dwindle this quarter and next.
