September is always one of the slowest months for real estate. Everybody is getting back into school mode, and schedules are getting worked out. Now it is October, so we should see things pick up a little bit. A lot of people will start looking now to get into a home before the end of the year. Several potential buyers have told me that they are continuing to wait until after the first of the year? I have not quite figured out what everyone is waiting for. I know some are saving money, because it is harder to get 100% financing now. Others are working on credit issues. There are still other people who think something will change in the market after New Years. Prices will fall, interest rates will plummet, taxes and insurance will be free. None of these will happen, so why not buy now before all the other buyers start buying. You will probably have a better negotiating position.
