Orlando Real Estate

Governor Scott,

I was sceptical when I first heard of the proposed plan for commuter rail in the Orlando area. I am a Central Florida native, and I know how much we love our cars here. I am also a Realtor, and I can tell you that the demographic trends of the up and coming generations of Central Floridians has me convinced that commuter rail will work. Zoning issues all along the rail line have been addressed to allow for more multi-use development, and it is my opinion based on my observations and experience in real estate that these areas will grow - expanding jobs and the tax base of all the municipalities along the rail line.

This is not like the high speed boondogle that you rejected (thank you). This is a project that real working people will use on a daily basis. With rising gas prices, it could become a real budget saver for a lot of the service workers and put extra dollars in downtown commuters pockets that could spent elsewhere in our local economy. I hope you can make your decision quickly on this issue to help get Central Floridians to work sooner rather than later.
