Commissioner Linda Stuart from district 4 in Orange County gave a brief but infomative update on property tax reform and the effect on us here. Basically, the county has made provisions to maintain and expand areas of public safety, while paring back in areas that are not as urgent. So even with a 5% rollback expected from the recent  legislation, Orange county is in a position to maintain. One of the biggest reasons for that is the continued growth of the county. District 4 is especially poised for significant growth due to the new UCF Medical School, the Burnham Institute (Biotech), the VA Hospital, and now the Nemours Childrens Hospital all being built in this SE Orange County district.
